Busy Summer

So besides having a new baby and having my Mom and Dad return from their mission, we've been pretty busy.  Dan had Father's Day as a Father of 4!!  He sure has cute kids.

In July, Brooks turned 6. We had a swimming party at Aunt Suzanne's. It was a lot of fun and Brooks was spoiled with great presents.

.

We also went away for a quick trip to Bear Lake.  We are so lucky that we have family that is nice enough to let us use their cabin. The kids had a great time at the beach. Brooks and Lainey had fun becoming
"Sand Monsters".

This was my favorite picture of Maren.

At the end of July my brother Brad got married.  He and Heather are so cute and we are SO happy for them.  They had a beautiful wedding, perfect weather, and a great reception.  We had fun celebrating with them.  It was fun to have my family from out of state come for the wedding.

The girls with their cousin Sydney.

Maren was so cute.  She loved dancing and could hardley stand it when the happy couple had thier first dance.  I held her as long as I could and then let her loose.  It made for some cute pictures.

We've been so busy we can't believe the summer has flown by.  Now that we're done with all the big events we hope to enjoy the last few weeks playing and getting outside.

Jace Daniel Hansen

On June 15th we welcomed Jace Daniel Hansen to our family.  He was born at 7:00 AM after a very quick labor and was 11 days early.  He weighed 6 pounds 3 ounces and was 19 inches long.  He has tons of blonde hair.  The nurses teased Dan that he had more hair than Dad.

He is a good baby and we are all so happy to have him in our family.  Here are a few cute pics of him.

Brooks is happy to have a brother!!

Lainey is enjoying her job of reading to Jace.  She is such a good helper to Mom.

I am enjoying all the snuggle time with my newborn.  They get big too quickly. I hope all my kids know how much I love them.

A New Post!!!

So I finally am updating the blog, a little.  I guess my excuse is that we lost our camera and video camera sometime right after Christmas.  We limped along for a month or two hoping they would turn up, but then we broke down and bought new ones.

Our family has had a great winter and spring.  Maren had her first birthday in March.  We had almost all her cousins, aunts, and uncles here, plus Grandma.  She didn't really dig into her cake, but enjoyed all her presents.

Lainey also had a birthday.  She turned 4 in May.  She had a fun day at her preschool and then had some friends over for a My Little Pony birthday party.  She also got to go to lunch with her daddy.  When you ask her how to make the number 4 with your hand she tell you, "You put your thumb to sleep."  Very Cute.

We had a great Easter at home.  Everyone found eggs and enjoyed Conference.

Dan and I went to Miami in March for the American Academy of Dermatology Conference.  We had a fun weekend together and picked up some derm goodies.  We enjoyed the warm Florida sun, but wore our sunscreen!! We met up with his former program director and this is a picture from his boat at sunset.

I also got together with some of my Danceworks Dance Company friends from Utah State.  We had lunch together and caught up with what everyone has been doing the past 12 years.  It was so fun to see these girls.  Almost everyone is still involved in dance in some way.  We had great times together and hope to continue in the future.

So in case you can't tell from this last picture, we are expecting another baby!  I know, and yes this is #4.  We are having a BOY and he is due June 26th.  We are very excited, although we were very suprised.  The kids can't wait for "baby brother" to come.

Disneyland

We took a family trip to Disneyland with almost all the Hansen family the first week of December.  We had a great time.  Brooks loved all the rides, Lainey liked most of them (she wasn't too sure about Pirates).  Even Maren went on a few.  We had a great time and enjoyed celebrating Grandma Hansen's birthday.

Fall & Halloween

Life has been crazy, but fun.  Here are a few pictures from fall and Halloween.

We had a great time picking our pumpkins at the pumpkin patch with my sister Melissa's family.

My fearsome pirate and beautiful princess.

Utah Adventures

Well, here comes another update. I finally have some time to sit down and catch up. So, ...we moved to Utah in July. Dan started work at his own dermatology practice mid-July. We had a crazy couple of weeks in our new home. The AC didn't work, we didn't have any water pressure, and then we had a leak. After that things have settled down and we are enjoying being in our home. The house backs up to the Wasatch Mountains and we have a great view of the Great Salt Lake.
We have had a fun summer with family. It has been fun to finally be able to attend birthday parties and Sunday dinners. Maren has enjoyed getting to know her cousins Bethany (6 weeks older) and Renna (5 months younger).
Brooks started kindergarten and loves it!! He enjoys riding the bus with his cousin Mahaley.
Lainey started preschool. She can't wait to tell me everything she did, show me what she made and most importantly tell me what she had for snack.
Brooks started soccer and plays on the same team with his cousin Drew. He is quite aggressive and is learning how to play as a team. This is a picture after he scored his first goal. He was so cute and so proud of himself.
We have enjoyed several weekends up at the Bear Lake Cabin. Thanks Craig and Chris!! We were able to spend a perfect weekend in August with some of our friends and their families. We had fun at the beach, went on the wave runners, and played at the cabin.
So we are finally settling into our new life in Utah. We are so blessed to be near family and that Dan's work is going so well. He enjoys his patients and is learning quickly about being a small business owner and being the boss. Hopefully I can keep this more up to date.

Catching Up

We have been SO busy that I have not kept up with our blog. I thought I would try to get caught up before a whole new life starts for us. Next week we will be moving from our wonderful home in Michigan to start a new chapter in our lives in Utah. We are excited for all the changes and to be near family, but we will definitely miss our friends and life in Michigan. Here are a few cute pictures from the past few months. Lainey turned 3 and had a Fancy Nancy birthday party.
Brooks finished preschool. He loved his friends and his teacher Mrs. Rosiak.
My brother Chris and his wife Kate and little Henry made the long drive from Phillie to come spend a weekend with us. We visited the church where Kate was blessed as a baby and saw her childhood home in Michigan.
We blessed Maren at church. We love her so much and are so happy to have her as part of our family. She was so good during the blessing. However, we almost didn't make it on time because Dan accidently took both sets of keys with him to Bishopric Meeting. It turned out great and Dan gave her a beautiful blessing.
We took a small trip to Western Michigan and visited Grand Haven State Park. It is a gorgeous beach with great sand and a lighthouse off the pier. The kids had a great day playing on the beach.
We also visited Holland, Michigan home to the only authentic working Dutch windmill outside of the Netherlands.
Dan and I celebrated our 7 year Anniversary. We went to dinner at the Coach Insignia Restraunt, which is on the very top of the tallest GM building in Downtown Detroit. We had a great view on the city and river while eating yummy food. Love you Babe.
Brooks has been playing flag football with his buddies. He has loved running on the field and learning to work as a team. He is a great sport. Thanks to Coach Dave for all his time.
We also attended the Graduation Dinner for Dan's Residency. After all these, lets see 26 years of education and training, Dan is FINALLY done with school. He has been working as Co-Chief Resident this past year. Great Job Sweetie. Congrats also to Heather and thanks to Dr. Holland for your knowledge and kind words that night.
So admit all of this we decided to purchase a practice in Utah, made a few trips to Utah for interviews, began filling out the endless paperwork, looked for housing online for hours, and somehow found time to eat a get a little sleep. The next week will be filled with packing, cleaning, and craziness. Watch out Utah...here come the Hansens.
